Overview

PERKESO protects employees against employment injury and invalidity, and administers the Employment Insurance System (EIS) for people who lose their jobs. An employer must register within 30 days of hiring its first employee.

Registration gives the company its employer code and online access, which it then uses to register each employee and pay monthly contributions. An employee who is injured at work while the employer is unregistered is still a problem the employer has to answer for.

Because the deadline, contributions and employee registrations run alongside KWSP and payroll tax, we set them up together when a company starts hiring.
