Quick answer
CIDB G7 registration must be renewed before it expires to keep undertaking works. Renewal is granted for one to three years depending on the CCD points accumulated — G7 needs 40 points for each year — and the company must still meet the grade's paid-up capital of at least RM750,000 and technical-personnel requirements. CIDB renewal fees are included in our fee.

Overview
A CIDB certificate carries an expiry date. After it lapses the company cannot take on new construction works, and bids submitted with an expired certificate are disqualified — so renewal needs to be planned months ahead, not in the final week.
The renewal period depends on CCD (Continuous Contractor Development) points collected through approved courses. Grade G7 needs 40 points for each year of registration: with enough points for three years the company renews for three, with fewer it renews for less. Contractors who ignore CCD until expiry often find they can only renew for one year, or must scramble for courses.
CIDB also re-checks that the company still qualifies: paid-up capital of at least RM750,000, technical personnel who are still employed and on EPF, and valid company documents. Grade G7 contractors also need a valid CIDB SCORE rating of at least three stars for renewal. If the company has grown, renewal is also the natural moment to consider upgrading.
Who needs this
- Contractors whose G7 certificate expires within the next few months
- Contractors short of CCD points
- Contractors whose technical personnel have changed
- Contractors considering an upgrade at renewal
