Overview
SKM is Malaysia's national skills qualification. It certifies that a person is competent in a specific occupation against the National Occupational Skills Standard (NOSS), and it is issued by the Department of Skills Development (JPK) under the Ministry of Human Resources.
The certificate is structured by level: SKM Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 for operational to supervisory competence, and the Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) at Level 4. Employers use it to verify skills, training centres need certified staff, and some licences and job roles ask for a specific SKM level.
