Overview
SCORE is CIDB's assessment of what a contractor can actually deliver. Developed with SME Corp, it looks beyond the paperwork of a grade and scores the company across seven areas — covering areas such as financial strength, technical capability, project track record, management systems and human resources — to produce a star rating from zero to five.
The rating matters because it is a gate. Contractors in grades G2 to G7 need a minimum SCORE rating to renew their CIDB registration — at least two stars for G2 and three stars for G3 to G7 — and foreign contractors need at least three stars. A low or expired rating can block a renewal the company otherwise qualifies for.
The score reflects evidence, so preparation decides the outcome. Projects not documented, safety procedures not written down, and financials not up to date all cost points. We organise the evidence before assessment rather than after a disappointing result.
