Does MBPJ issue a permanent business licence directly?
No. Unlike some other councils, MBPJ does not grant a permanent licence to a new applicant. Every new application first receives a temporary licence. Only after MBPJ is satisfied — following an audit visit and any required conditions — is the licence converted to permanent.
How long is an MBPJ temporary licence valid, and how many times can it be renewed?
An MBPJ temporary licence is valid for 6 months and can be renewed a maximum of two times. If it is not converted to a permanent licence within that window, it lapses — and you cannot simply keep renewing it, so getting the documents right early matters.
What happens during the MBPJ temporary licence period?
